Terminal 1 handles the bulk of MSP's traffic and has multiple concourses (Blue, Green, and Red), so the walk from gate to baggage claim varies. Terminal 2 is smaller and simpler, one concourse, one baggage claim area.
Terminal 1 (Lindbergh)
The larger of the two, and where most travelers land. Baggage claim is split across a few carousels depending on your concourse, but ground transportation pickup funnels to the same general curb area regardless of which one you land at. Your chauffeur waits inside, not out at the curb, so you're not scanning a row of cars trying to find the one holding your name.
Terminal 2 (Humphrey)
Smaller, quieter, and a shorter walk end to end. If your flight is on Southwest or Sun Country, this is where you'll land, and it's easy to miss if you're expecting Terminal 1 by habit. Same flat rate, same meet-at-baggage-claim process, just a different building a mile and a half from Terminal 1.

International arrivals clear customs and baggage recheck at Terminal 1 before ever reaching the public terminal, which adds time that has nothing to do with how on-time your flight actually was.
